PAVERS & HARDSCAPING

Hardscape materials such as concrete, pavers, flagstone, stacked stone, block walls with various textures, boulders and granite can be made into a variety of shapes and structures. Retaining walls, planters, seating walls, boulders, firepits, and barbecues can be centerpieces in your out-of-doors. Mortarless interlocking pavers for walkways and patio floors are an inexpensive design element to tie together each individual focal point.

ARTIFICIAL TURF

Worth the Investment.

XERISCAPE

There are two approaches to xeriscape. One is to “adjust” your existing landscaping to use less water. The other is to design and construct an entirely new water wise landscape. The use of both native plants along with artistic usage of hardscaping can be veritably eye catching.

Xeriscape landscaping can be very beautiful and generally requires less water, fertilizer, maintenance, and pest control than traditional landscaping. These savings add up. Using less will ultimately save you money.

You may choose to xeriscape some or all your landscaping area. So don’t feel tied down to an all or nothing attitude. Grouping plants with similar water needs allows them to be watered as required with very little waste. By planting low water use plants in different irrigation zones you can regulate water needs more accurately.

SOD/PLANT INSTALLATION

A small renovation in your existing plant areas can give a revitalizing lift to your outdoor experience. Even with a complete redesign, choosing between the various trees, flowers, shrubs, and sod, consideration and careful attention should be given to the site itself. What conditions will these plants undergo during their lifespan? What size will they get when they mature? Will each plant compliment one another even after initial installation. Rock Solid Landscape ensures that all of these considerations are taken into account.

IRRIGATION

In order to nurture plants not native to the high desert of Northern Nevada, along with turf areas, it is necessary to install water saving irrigation systems. Rock Solid Landscape has expertise in both planting and irrigation to sustain any landscape.

DRAINAGE SYSTEMS

To properly channel runoff it is sometimes necessary to devise a drainage system. Site grading, Dry creek beds, French and Area drains ensure extra water will not build up and cause problems.

If you read their company statement you will find my experience with Jeff and his work crew. From initial contact, through design then install our project was flawless. Even the wet weather couldn’t impact it other than needed delays to dry out. We had a very large project including removal of 150′ failing block wall, replacing that wall, leveling and placement of 4000 sq ft of pavers. Ripping out concrete and replacing the pavers on the patio was included. They fixed the drainage in the back of our lot at the same time.
The work site was kept clean, tidy, and safe. They showed up exactly on time every day! If I owned a company I would want it run this way! Rick Solid finished ahead of schedule and on budget! Thanks for a beautiful job done beautifully!

We were blessed beyond words to meet Jeff, the owner of Rock Solid Landscape, LLC. We were at a loss for what we wanted even though we had looked on the internet and books for ideas. We interviewed many sources and attempted to elicit suggestions of what they felt might be possible. It felt as though they were intimidated to throw ideas out on the table. When we met Jeff, he was very respectful and listened to our ideas of a retaining wall and dry creek etc. Then, after listening to our blinded suggestions, he suggested eliminating the retaining wall due to the cost and lack of appeal it would bring to the finished product. We were surprised to hear someone eliminate a suggestion that could put profit in his pocket but that’s just how Jeff is…his priority is to feel-out the customer and find a win-win solution. His employees were fabulous, hard-working individuals who were very respectful and always on time. I was especially impressed by their dedication in making suggestions that improved the finished product after first asking for our approval. They strategically placed the trees in areas that would encourage privacy for the back yard and kept us informed of the situation. We had a cracked water pipe that they were able to correct and we witnessed the diversity of their skills and capabilities with much appreciation. Jeff was sensitive to our economic boundaries in terms of what we wanted to spend and we would recommend him without reservation to anyone who wants to cut through the fat of dealing with individuals who attempt to fake-it to make-it. Jeff has a natural talent for color schemes and taking the canvas that is provided to him and creating an eye-appealing area that can be utilized for a personal sanctuary or for larger groups and gatherings.
